Successful first webinar of the Hi-Acts Academy

We are pleased to report on the successful completion of our first online seminar as part of the Hi-Acts Academy: ‘Brilliant X-ray light as a versatile analysis tool for industry’.

The one-hour seminar took place on 13 May and provided participants with a comprehensive insight into the many possible applications of brilliant X-ray light. Professor Dr Martin Müller - Institute Director for Materials Physics at the Helmholtz Centre Hereon, provided a brilliant introduction to the topic and was able to present various practical examples of how companies and R&D specialists can use the unique possibilities of brilliant X-ray light to create added value in a variety of application areas. Examples from the fields of materials, energy and life science included depth-resolved residual stress analysis in metals, the investigation of sustainable cardboard packaging, the visualisation of ultra-high-resolution 3D images with the distribution of chemical elements in a battery and the investigation of lipid nanoparticles as transport vehicles for novel mRNA vaccines.

The session was rounded off with a brief presentation of the current platform portfolio by Johannes Blum, Innovation Manager. He explained the advantages of Hi-Acts Connect: the one Helmholtz contact point for the five national accelerator centres as a mediation service for companies and applied research.

We would like to thank all participants and speakers for the valuable exchange and are already processing the first enquiries that have been received.

Stay tuned for more events and webinars from the Hi-Acts Academy, which aim to introduce cutting-edge analytics tools and cutting-edge technologies in the simplest possible way.
