Hi-Acts made a strong impression at this year's Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS24), Hamburg's premier innovation event, showcasing the power of accelerator-based technologies to foster cooperation between industry, medicine, and science. The Hi-Acts team, in collaboration with DESY, proudly represented itself at the DESY joint booth, presenting its cutting-edge platform aimed at speeding up innovation.

Connect, Collaborate, Create was the guiding theme for Hi-Acts at the summit, a fitting motto for the event's goal of forging meaningful partnerships across various sectors.

Key Highlights:

1. A Visit from Hamburg's First Mayor
One of the standout moments of the summit was the visit of Dr. Peter Tschentscher, President of the Senate and First Mayor of Hamburg, to the Hi-Acts booth. In a detailed conversation with Dr. Ilka Mahns, Christine Leue, and Hansjoerg Wiese, Dr. Tschentscher was introduced to the latest developments in the scientific community at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) and the innovative Hi-Acts platform. The mayor expressed his appreciation for the "one-face-to-the-customer" approach that streamlines interactions within the Hi-Acts network, designed to simplify collaboration for partners.

2. Spotlight on DESY’s Senior Scientist
Another major highlight was the on-stage appearance of Dr. Andreas Maier, DESY’s senior scientist for plasma acceleration and Head of the Hi-Acts Technology Lab Novel Compact Laser Plasma Accelerators. Participating in the "5 Questions to a Scientist" segment, Dr. Maier engaged with moderator Amiaz Habtu, who skillfully simplified the complex world of plasma laser accelerators, making it accessible and engaging to the audience.
