Under the glass dome of the German Bundestag, Hi-Acts, the Helmholtz Innovation Platform for Accelerator Technologies, presented its work at the CDU/CSU Innovation Congress. In front of representatives from politics, science, and industry, the platform highlighted the role of accelerator technologies in addressing key future challenges.

Peggy Jungke and Björn Wolf, representing the Hi-Acts Tech-Labs at HZDR, showcased two core areas: the production of theranostic radionuclides for personalized medicine and accelerators for ion implantation in high-power semiconductor devices for energy and electronics applications.

Federal Minister of Research Dorothee Bär showed particular interest in a cyclotron model for radionuclide production. Helmholtz President Martin Keller also acknowledged Hi-Acts’ participation and emphasized the importance of dialogue between science and policymaking.

The congress provided a valuable platform to underline the societal relevance and future potential of modern accelerator technologies.
