Expanding Value Creation – Strengthening the Radiopharmacy Ecosystem in Saxony in Dresden, October 2025

Under the motto “Expanding value creation – strengthening the radiopharmacy ecosystem in Saxony,” more than 120 participants from science, industry, clinics, and networks came together on October 28 and 29 for the Hi-Tech meets Life Sciences Forum in Dresden. The event — organized by Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH and HZDR, and actively supported by Hi-Acts — highlighted how high-tech, life sciences, and clinical applications are already deeply interconnected.

A key driving force behind the success of the event was Dr. Peggy Jungke (HZDR), who played a major role in organizing the forum, moderating discussions, and keeping the dialogue between science, business, and clinics both dynamic and focused. Her dedication and coordination contributed significantly to the event’s lively and outcome-oriented atmosphere.

From Expertise to Exchange: Two Days Full of Insights

The first day of the forum at the Parkhotel Dresden focused on specialist presentations and discussions covering the entire radiopharmaceutical value chain — from the production of clinically relevant radionuclides, to the development and approval of radiopharmaceuticals, their clinical application, radiopharma logistics, and technological solutions.

Participants also gained valuable insights into European networks and institutions, including the Belgian radiopharmacy cluster Rad4Med.be and the work of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

Networking and matchmaking formats provided ample opportunity for exchange, while the evening talk show “Hot Spot Saxony – How Radiopharmacy Finds Its Home Here” rounded off the day with engaging discussions and perspectives on the region’s development.

From Insights to Industry: The NUKLID Tour

The second day of the forum continued at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), where participants explored regional excellence during the NUKLID Industry Tour. The program included visits to VKTA Rossendorf, ROTOP Pharmaka GmbH, ABX advanced biochemical compounds GmbH, CUP Contract Labs, TRIMT GmbH, and Eckert & Ziegler SE, as well as the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) at University Hospital Dresden and the HZDR Institute of Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research.

Prof. Sebastian M. Schmidt, Scientific Director of HZDR, welcomed participants at HZDR with the hot news, that our innovation platform Hi-Acts is ongoing and stays on course.
